“Sew Torn” is a feature film directed by Freddy Macdonald and shot by Sebastian Klinger. It’s the full length feature based on the short “Sew Torn”, a six minute film, which was acquired by Searchlight Pictures in 2019 and qualified for the Oscars 2020. The feature had its world premiere at the prestigious SXSW Film & TV Festival 2024 in Austin, Texas, headlined the Piazza Grande at the 77th Locarno Film Festival and was officially selected at Camerimage 2024. Since December 1, 2025 the “Sew Torn” is available on Netflix in North America and became the second Swiss film ever to achieve the Certified Fresh status on Rotten Tomatoes.
Synopsis: A seamstress gets tangled in her own thread after stealing a briefcase from a drug deal gone bad. In an escalating game of cat and mouse, her different choices lead to drastically different outcomes along the way.
